"Everyone, at some point in their lives, wakes up in the middle of the night with the feeling that they are all alone in the world, and that nobody loves them now and that noboby will ever love them, and that they will never have a decent night's sleep again and will spend their lives wandering blearily around a loveless landscape, hoping desperately that their circumstances will improve, but suspecting, in their heart of hearts, that they will remain unloved forever. The best thing to do in these circumstances is to wake somebody else up, so that they can feel this way, too."

Persepolis: Beginning

Image DetailIn the beginning of the book Marjane explaines how a "cultural revolution" caused her and all the girls at her school to wear a veil. She comes from a family that shall I say likes to express their opinion about the way their country is being ruled. Her mother appeared in all the european newspapers. Her mother was frightened so she dyed her hair and wore dark glasses for a long time. Marjane doesnt consider herself a very religious person (well deep down shew is but her family is very modern) but would like to be a prophet when she is older. She soon figures out that she is an a higher social class. Marji watched as her maid is crushed because her farther told the neighbors son that she was a maid. Inspired to become a prophet, Marjane speaks to God sometimes. Other times she doesn't what to talk, or tries to change the subject. God feels rejected so he leaves her alone for quite some time. I have not gotten far into the book but I look forward to.

6 Word Memoir: The Final

I thought about it for a long  time, its pretty hard figuring how most of my memoirs are lame. I chose: Afraid of heights, Love the swings. I think it's pretty ironic that I have always feared heights and the idea of falling from so high but I absolutely swinging as high as it can go. Basically most of my life is pretty ironic. How I insist that I am a loner and I know people pretty much everywhere in campus; how my folks believe they have shown me their love; how I feel guilty for not including him but when he was alive rarely did I mention him. I had some other memoirs but I truely got this one and found the background story to it. I think this one popped out more because I didn't try to hard for this one. I wanted something meaningful and tried to hard to find that six word memoir. I guess what I saw wasn't meaningful enough for me to consider it at first. Oh and this picture seems about perfect for: Afraid of heights, Love the swings.

Books

Everyone loves books no matter how much you read or what you; from a Dr. Seuss to a more mature book like Water For Elephants. There is no way avoiding it. Its very rewarding once you find a book you like you will become emotionally attached to it so if the couple which wasnt meant to be, end in a tragic love story you will feel as if you were there. More than just a third wheel, you were apart of it without being involved in it. Once you find that book you will know that feeling when you're reading a book that's just...wonderful; having to stop for a second and savour the moment that unfolded on the page before you. You will clutch the book to your chest and think 'I wish my life were like this,' then carry on reading. Yeah, I have shed so many tears in books getting lost in that enchanted place, where everything is close to perfection, where you can compare your life to theres, where you imagine a whole new world unique to you. That is the best feeling you can get from reading a book. No matter how evil and vulcher like the librarian, its worth it.
